The sails billowed and people sang

True to their word, the Raven came

O' cried the gents with the pang

Out with the Raven, left the dame!

Yes, Raven had taken, all the same.

Man prospered while darkness fell

Wounded heart did riches hardly heal

Woman had truly inspired, with her swell

Youngster unborn, to who king would kneel!

Yes, Raven had taken, all the same.

This bird was artful, striking wind with wing

Offering repose for gift unknown

To this promise, would Man cling

Oblivious they were to future alone!

Yes, Raven had taken, all the same.

Nurtured child from scoundrel feather

Greatness replaced with matchless deceit

Nullified heart to hateful ether

Goodness did Raven take and beat!

Yes, Raven had taken, all the same.

Came the day of war

Raven released it, and fell into lore

Cunning nonetheless, Raven fell prey too

Routed from life, Man told World adieu

And then Raven faced its masterpeice

And fought Raven did till creation cease.

Yes, Raven had taken, all the same.
